This was my first brand new car. I got on well with the guy in the showroom so wangled the Aero model. This little known spec was a homologation special so had a really nice bodykit (how tacky does that sound?) - it looked exacly like Alain Menus WTCC Laguna except it was white.

The Mrs absolutely loved it but it was soooo slow despite being a 2.0litre petrol.

All was well until one day, ironically sat outside a Renault garage waiting to pick up a co-worker, a Sherpa fan lost control and hit the drivers side, side on at 20 mph. It made a bit of a mess to say the least. I jovially walked into the Renault garage and told them to sort it. Once back at work however, it was discovered that the Renault garage wasn't on the insurance companys list of suppliers so I had to drive it, twisted, leaking and generally fucked, to a Ford garage!

They had it 6 weeks and when it came back, it was fucked. It never tracked straight and the handling was shite.

But only if I'd known that my next car was a 15 year Cavalier....
